FAQ

Is there a recommended sequence for AEDP Certification courses?

Level 1: AEDP™ Immersion is required for certification and is the first certification course for eligible therapists who are seeking to learn more about AEDP method of psychotherapy, whether or not they intend to become Certified. After you take Immersion, you will be an AEDP Level 1 Therapist.

Level 2: Essential Skills is the second of the certification courses, and will give you a practical foundation and understanding of AEDP.  Once you complete Essential Skills, you be an AEDP Level 2 Therapist.

Level 3: To achieve level 3 you have two options: Option A or Option B;

  • Option A): AEDP Advanced Skills course (5 modules) and one Supervision Option from the list below
  • Option B) Two Supervision Options from the list below (or one Supervision Option doubled). Supervision Options:
    -Core Training: 1 yr / 5 modules;  you are required to present video for a minimum of five hours of supervision of your work
    -30 hours* Group Supervision:  you are required to present video for a minimum of five hours of supervision of your work
    -15 hours* Individual Supervision:  you are required to present video for a minimum of five hours of supervision of your work

It is recommended to take supervision after Immersion and simultaneously with Essential Skills. You can consider individual or small-group supervision with one of our AEDP supervisors.

Find A Supervisor:  Simply send an email to findasupervisor@aedpinstitute.org, providing details about the supervisor or type of supervision you are seeking. Your request will be visible to every faculty member, certified supervisor, and supervisor in training.
