From Fear to Flow: Confidently Navigating Dissociative States in Complex Trauma with AEDP

Presented by Michael Mondoro, LCSW, Certified AEDP Therapist and Supervisor

Friday and Saturday, December 13th + 14th, 2024 | 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM EST

Level: Open to all mental health clinicians and most beneficial if you are at AEDP Level 1 (completed Immersion) or have completed an advanced Intro to AEDP course – more details below.

Description

This engaging AEDP-focused seminar is designed to help therapists expand their essential knowledge and vital clinical skills in working with dissociative phenomena—particularly as defense mechanisms—within the compassionate, healing-oriented care of individuals with complex, relational trauma (C-PTSD).

Led by an experienced Complex Trauma Specialist and Certified AEDP Supervisor and Lecturer, this presenter offers an overview of AEDP and AEDP-allied techniques that will equip and empower you to confidently work with dissociation in its most common defensive forms—such as emotional numbing, depersonalization, derealization, and dissociative parts or self-states. You’ll walk away with practical, proven strategies to get “unstuck,” including 5 experiential interventions and 9 complementary techniques, along with evidence-based essential AEDP skills to co-create safety, reduce incidences of dissociation, and facilitate healing from complex, relational trauma.

Key features include:

  • Clinical videos and participant demonstration
  • Hands-on AEDP techniques for treating dissociation and trauma
  • Cultivating authentic presence and self-care to prevent burnout
  • Insights into the neurology of dissociation
  • Addressing dissociation in communities impacted by systemic and/or race-based trauma (BIPOC & LGBTQIA+)
  • Proven experiential strategies effective across the post-traumatic spectrum

This seminar is designed for practicing mental health professionals who want to enrich their therapeutic process, enhance client outcomes, and broaden their expertise in dissociation and complex trauma. By gaining confidence in recognizing and working with dissociative defenses, you’ll transform both your practice and your clients’ healing journey.
