More about Eileen Russell, PhD

Ernest Hemingway said, “The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong at the broken places.”  Sometimes it is difficult to see the strength unless we are looking through the brokenness.  How do we have faith in the strength, resilience, and transformance when confronted with defense, silence, and brokenness? What do we do when people flout our interventions and our well-practiced wisdom?  How do we feel when we give an inch and they take a yard?

This seminar will focus on the presence that transcends technique and offers us a grounding place when we don’t necessarily know what to do.  It will explore how the skillful learning of AEDP theory and techniques facilitates the kind of presence that can make a lot of room for what is nascent or emerging and for trusting the space between therapist and patient.

Take the #1 Local-7th Avenue Subway to 116th St.

St Lukes’ entrance is on the south side of 114th Street (“Outpatient Bldg”). Once inside, look for posted AEDP signs and/or pick up an AEDP Seminar directions flyer from the security guard at the information booth just inside the building.
