Michelle Kehn, PhD, ABPP
Michelle is a Certified AEDP therapist and is in the process of becoming a Certified AEDP Supervisor. She is based in Denver, CO, working as a full-time psychologist at the VA Rocky Mountain Medical Center in Aurora. In addition, she has a small private practice devoted primarily to older adults and healthcare workers. Her journey to AEDP began while she was still in graduate school in NYC in 2007 when she was introduced to AEDP surreptitiously while working on a research project at a public hospital. She was hooked, and although taking a longer road, has continued to make her way through the AEDP journey throughout her career.
Michelle completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Long Island University in Brooklyn,
NY. She completed her internship and postdoctoral training at the VA New York Harbor
Healthcare System in Brooklyn, NY. She went on to work as a full-time psychologist at the
Margaret Cochran Corbin VA in New York, NY for 13 years where she served as a clinical
supervisor for psychology trainees.
Having spent all of her career working in a hospital setting, Michelle is familiar with the
challenges of offering AEDP in a time-limited manner. She participated as a therapist in the 16-
week AEDP research project, and continues to offer it when appropriate in her work with
Veterans at the VA. Michelle believes strongly in bringing the AEDP model into the supervision, making it an experiential environment for learning and growth. She has informally offered AEDP supervision
to the psychology trainees with whom she has worked, and is excited about offering AEDP
supervision to anyone looking for a gentle, relational approach to learning the model.
