For the therapist certification candidate
Therapists pursuing AEDP certification complete a carefully structured final review process designed to support both rigor and growth. This includes two clinical video recordings with transcripts, accompanying microanalyses, client descriptions, and a self-reflection essay. The clinical work should demonstrate engagement with all four AEDP states of transformation.
A Certification Supervisor will provide you guidance throughout the preparation process to help ensure clarity, completeness, and alignment with AEDP standards. Once submitted, the full package is reviewed by a panel of trained evaluators.
Throughout the process, candidates are supported with clear guidelines and resources while maintaining AEDP’s high standards for clinical excellence and transformational work.

This includes assisting in selecting clinical videos, reviewing and ensuring the quality of their full certification package, and providing a recommendation only when the candidate is fully prepared. Therapist & Supervisor Certification Documents for Reviewers
Therapist reviewers play a critical role in assessing AEDP certification packages. Responsibilities include reviewing candidates’ clinical video recordings, transcripts, and supporting materials to ensure they meet AEDP’s high standards. Reviewers must independently evaluate submissions using the provided rubric and communicate their decisions (Pass or Resubmit) through Carolyn. Collaboration or discussions about the evaluation should be coordinated through Carolyn, maintaining confidentiality and adherence to AEDP guidelines.
