AEDP® Advanced Skills Overview

AEDP Advanced Skills offers in-depth training for experienced therapists, focusing on advanced interventions to refine techniques and deepen mastery of the AEDP framework.
Available in full course or didactic-only formats, it provides flexible, comprehensive learning for advanced practitioners.
Advanced Skills trainings offer an opportunity to deepen your expertise in specialized AEDP topics. These trainings provide focused, in-depth learning designed to refine your skills and enhance your clinical practice.
What to Expect: 2 Options
Advanced Skills Full Courses offer a rich blend of specialized learning through expert-led instruction and extensive experiential practice with peers to master interventions. Completing five Advanced Skills Full Course Modules counts towards Level 3 in the AEDP certification process.
Advanced Skills Seminars offer specialized learning through expert-led didactic instruction in a setting where you can connect with our vibrant community. The Seminar format does not count toward certification. It is ideal for a wide range of people – those who are already AEDP Certified as well as those who have not yet completed Essential Skills but and want to get a peek at what more advanced training feels like.
Hallmarks of Training
Faculty, experiential assistants (in full courses) and clinical video. These are the hallmarks of AEDP training. In AEDP, we pride ourselves in how thoroughly and deeply we seek to both undo professional aloneness and engage in rigorous clinical teaching. Our faculty are excellent as academics, clinicians and teachers.
Routine for Full Courses and Seminars
Advanced Skills trainings generally consist of 4 half-days. The first and third days include didactic and clinical video – they are experienced by both Full Course and Seminar participants. The second and fourth days are spent almost entirely in small group experiential work – these days are for Full Course participants only.
Prerequisites
Full Courses: Must have completed Immersion and Essential Skills.
Seminars: Prerequisite: Completion of Immersion. These seminars expand on foundational knowledge, exploring advanced clinical applications and nuanced AEDP topics. While practitioners who haven’t completed Essential Skills may find the material stimulating, its complexity is best suited for experienced AEDP clinicians, including Certified Therapists looking to refresh or deepen their practice.
