Description
Before discovering AEDP one of the core beliefs underlying my practice was that much of our emotional life is organized around our innate need to establish secure attachment to others. I was thrilled to find in AEDP a psychotherapy that deeply understands and makes explicit use of these healthy impulses towards connection, open-heartedness, and emotional transformance. More so than any other therapy I have been trained in, AEDP allows therapist and client to closely track what feels real and true to the client's experience. In my experience this leads to less time spent in stories and defensive positions, and more time spent, together, in touch with the deep well of feelings where true transformation takes place.
