Live, in person in Srigim, starting November 1st, 2020: Sundays, 10 am to 2 pm
Description
This Core Training offers an advanced in-depth learning in AEDP, in intimate 6 participant groups. It is specially designed to be in an ongoing, year-long, weekly framework, in order to become a holding support to the process of incorporating AEDP to one’s practice. With the co-creation of safety as a matrix to our learning together I’m holding a transformative learning process as my compass.
Welcome to apply for participation are therapists who have already acquired significant training in AEDP – preference will be given to therapists who have completed AEDP Advanced Skills (ES2).
These AEDP Core Trainings in Israel are designed to meet Israeli culture: no weekends – twenty one 4 hour meetings, on a weekly basis, in Hebrew.
Core Training counts as group supervision hours towards AEDP certification.
Combining 4 Different Manners of Teaching:
- Theoretical didactics
- Experiential (by watching clinical tapes that demonstrate specific topics)
- Supervision (we will watch together clinical tapes of the participants)
- Cultivating experientially the therapist’s embodied presence
Goals of this Core Training:
- Deepening the integration between AEDP theoretical understanding, terms and language of the model, ethos of the model and the clinical practice of each of the participants.
- Cultivating the therapist’s capacity to lead the deepening of experientially based and transformative therapeutic work, track it moment-to-moment, and bear it in a relatively regulated, contained and held manner.
- Sharing a theoretical and experiential elaboration of the use of the Somatic Gateway in AEDP:
- As a support to cultivate therapist embodied presence.
- In order to establish recognition and acknowledgment of the body/soma as a valuable resource in the clinical practice, where remains of trauma and resilience co-existing in the body and can be accessed through it.
- To enrich the therapist’s skills with somatic/body-based interventions.
- To cultivate experientially the therapist’s trust in organic and spontaneous change and healing processes, and support their capacity to finely track and identify its markers, appreciate and cherish them – even if only in tiny glimmers.
- To enhance an experience of a support group for participants. AEDP informs us of the importance of Undoing Aloneness, and that, often, experiences of growth and change give rise to Tremulous Affect. Learning in the context of an on-going safe and supportive group, resonating with care and warmth, is a meaningful resource, helping in regulating a transformative process of learning to deepen and ground experiential knowledge.
Training structure:
This Core Training course contains 5 units of teaching. Each unit includes 16 hours: four, 4-hour meetings. Plus we will have one final 4 hour meeting in which we will meta-process together the experience of our learning, bringing the course to completion. All together 84 hours (21 meetings*4 hrs each).
As this course is limited to 6 participants, each unit includes one teaching/workshop meeting followed by 3 meetings of supervision.
Participants can expect to receive 5 teaching/workshop meetings (1 per unit), 5 group supervision of their own clinical tapes (1 per unit), and watching and discussing/ group supervising 25 clinical tapes of other participants.
Application and Registration:
In order to promote a relatively homogenous AEDP level of the group, an interview will be held prior to registration. For more details, please contact Mrs. Sigal Bahat at sigalbahat@gmail.com or +972-(0)54-4514131
My stand as a teacher and supervisor:
In congruence with AEDP approach and ethos, my intention is to cultivate a space for deep and transformative learning. The AEDP model clearly demonstrates how safe, supportive and positive interpersonal relationship context is facilitating optimal conditions for learning and exploring. In that respect we’ll cultivate together a safe, respectful and growth enhancing environment.
I believe wholeheartedly that as we participate in teaching and supervising, we not only share knowledge and practical skills, but we support the therapist’s intra-personal connection and integration with their Innate Core Self. According to my understanding, the quality of this connection has a direct and deep influence on the quality of clinical presence we are able to offer our clients.
Meet the Trainer
Sigal Bahat – Certified AEDP Supervisor
I teach and supervise in AEDP training courses and privately, in Israel and internationally and in private practice in Israel and through Zoom.
I’ve realized that for over three decades I was engaged in a professional and personal journey where I’ve tracked intimate connections between emotions, psyche, body, awareness and life movement. I know now that I was seeking a coherent and grounded connection between theory and clinical practice. My experience included: Alexander Technique through to Dance-Movement Therapy, Expressive & Creative Psychotherapy, Authentic Movement, Bio-energetic Analysis, professional sculpting, the Feldenkrais Method and circling back to Psychotherapy with this rich multiplicity of layers I’ve collected in myself.
I’ve taught and supervised in Dance Movement Therapy training, where I’ve helped students to integrate theory with practice, translating psychoanalytic theorists like Winnicott, Bion and Ogden into experientially based therapy.
Meeting Dr. Diana Fosha – her conceptual theory, ethos and practice as embodied in the AEDP model – in practice was a life changing encounter for me. It brought a new plane of quality to my clinical work, teaching and supervising. It granted me deep quiet and clarity as to the essence of my work – a true gift.
I chose to participate actively as a therapist in the AEDP research project; through that experience I recognized that my personal style of AEDP integrates an extra elaboration and experiential focus working with the Somatic Gateway, resulting in efficiency of treatment.
I feel it’s my mission to share this aspect of AEDP with AEDPers.
