Gitit Jacobson-Ziv, M.A., I am a licensed clinical psychologist, certified supervisor in Israel, and certified AEDP psychotherapist. In my private practice, I work with adults and adolescents, specializing in attachment trauma and at-risk youth. For the last 20 years, I was the clinical director at a boarding school for at-risk children and adolescents that aims to rehabilitate its residents fully. I supervised the clinical and educational staff and was in charge of treatment planning for the boarding school children. The years I spent with youth at risk taught me about the necessity to be present in my body and soul in a way that I could be a home for them in our dyadic world. Years of working with attachment trauma and the challenges of helping them prompted me to learn continually, and AEDP was a perfect fit for my work.
From the moment I encountered AEDP, it permeated my clinical work profoundly. As I expanded my learning and deepened my understanding of the model, I experienced a renewed passion that has found expression both in my therapy sessions and in the individual and group supervision I provide. There was no way back—AEDP had become an integral part of how I understand and practice healing. My felt sense plays a central role in my work. I use it to tune into what is unspoken and to invite my clients and supervisees into a shared journey of the depths of the soul.
Before being introduced to AEDP, my journey as a therapist and supervisor began with the object relations theory. I also received training in Mindfulness, Biofeedback, EFT, and EFCT, and I am a licensed CBT therapist.
