Dear AEDP Community,
The AEDP Supervisory Review Board is pleased to share an important professional milestone and warmly celebrate a new achievement within our community.
Mariana Barstad has been formally recognized as an AEDP® Certified Supervisor. This designation follows a comprehensive review of her clinical and supervisory work, as well as her demonstrated depth of engagement with AEDP theory and practice. The Review Board unanimously affirmed the strength of her work and her readiness for this role.
Congratulations, Mariana. Your dedication to AEDP, your many years of involvement in the community, and your commitment to supporting the growth and development of other therapists are clearly reflected in this accomplishment.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to Mariana’s supervisors, Kari Gleiser and Karen Pando-Mars, whose guidance, mentorship, and support were integral throughout this process. Your contributions were deeply meaningful to this achievement.
We invite the community to join us in celebrating Mariana’s certification.
Mariana shares the following reflections on her journey:
I’m honored to be an AEDP® Certified Supervisor. After seeing Diana Fosha speak in Boston in 2012, I knew I had found my professional home. From organizing events for faculty visiting Brazil to stepping into roles as an Experiential Assistant and Lead Experiential Assistant over the last few years, I’ve felt grounded in this community with every step. Pursuing Essential Skills in New York in 2016 with Benjamin Lipton and Eileen Russell strengthened my dedication and clarified my path: to become a Certified Supervisor.
Holding the supervisor role is both a profound privilege and a responsibility I cherish. I am especially grateful for the support and encouragement from this community, which has been essential in reaching this milestone. I am honored to offer fresh insights and foster a transformative space for therapists on their unique journeys. I am deeply grateful to everyone who walked this path with me!
Please join us in congratulating Mariana and welcoming her to the community of AEDP® Certified Supervisors.
Thank you,
On behalf of the AEDP Supervisory Review Board
