I am a Mental Health Counselor (MHC-LP) in New York City, offering individual and couples therapy in English and Mandarin. AEDP is the heart of how I work. I have completed AEDP Level 2 and continue to deepen my practice through ongoing training, supervision, and an AEDP peer study group I organized around The Transforming Power of Affect.
Much of my work is with people carrying the marks of complex childhood trauma: a relentless inner critic, the reflex to please, difficulty trusting, recurring emotional pain, and patterns that keep them stuck in relationships. Many of my clients are Asian and Asian American adults navigating cultural identity, family expectations, and intergenerational dynamics, and I hold those layers with care rather than treating them as background.
In sessions, I stay close, present, and engaged. Together we slow down, notice what is happening in the body and between us, and make room for emotions that were never safe to feel fully. When emotion is fully felt and finally moved through, something in you gets to change. I integrate AEDP with EFT (Level 2) for couples, EMDR, IFS, and psychodynamic therapy, always grounded, evidence-based, and at your pace.
I offer online sessions across New York State and in-person sessions in Manhattan. I welcome a free consultation to see whether we are a good fit.
