I'm Kimarie Knowles, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience helping individuals navigate some of life's most challenging and meaningful transitions.

My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that healing happens through connection, compassion, and the experience of feeling truly seen and understood. I strive to create a warm, supportive space where we can explore difficult emotions together, uncover strengths, and make room for growth and change.

As a founding partner of Illumine Counseling, I specialize in supporting individuals navigating illness, caregiving, grief, loss, and significant life transitions. My work is informed by an emotion-focused, relational approach that recognizes our capacity for healing, even during times of profound uncertainty.

Alongside my clinical practice, I've published and presented nationally on topics including chronic cancer, survivor guilt, and bereavement. I also teach at NYU's Silver School of Social Work.
