AEDP is the heart of what I do. In fact, for me, it's quite a spiritual pursuit which merges with a way I want to be in the world - connected, still, quiet enough to feel into the what is wanting to be expressed, yet present enough to meet that person's energy with clarity so that, together, we can delight in the transformational energy that emerges. It's taken me some time to come to this place. As a white male doctor educated in England back in the day, I trained in precision, dissection of ideas and debate, and I was good at that: lecturing and teaching and running programs in addictions, severe mental illness, and evidence based practice. I was drawn towards AEDP because it showed me a way to feel the deep core of what wants to be spoken and known, and a method to allow this. These days, I still do psychopharmacology, addictions work and teaching, but AEDP organizes everything. I also do a lot of psychedelic work and have taught alongside Diana and Kari Gleiser and continue to run several groups for the crossover of AEDP and psychedelics. I am in the core teaching and supervising team for the Mount Sinai collaboration on KAP.
