My approach is grounded in my belief that relationships and social engagement are integral to our experience of ourselves and the world; that cultivating curiosity and awareness is essential in change; that the broader influences found in each person’s context need to be recognized; that our bodies are wise, are programmed for healing, and need to be acknowledged and included in order to process our experiences; that we all have a longing for meaning and purpose; and that pain is a part of the human experience but suffering does not have to be. It is my view that therapy is a relational exploration of difficulties and suffering, a celebration of coherence and success, an opportunity to enhance personal awareness, to integrate new understanding, to undo aloneness, and is a joyful process. I am committed to creating a safe container where people are supported in their instinctual yearning for healing and growth.

I am a registered Clinical Social Worker who completed a masters degree in Clinical Social Work at The University of Calgary in 2011. During my studies I placed an emphasis on learning about the impact of intergenerational trauma and ongoing experiences of trauma on individuals, families, communities, cultures, and the role of the therapeutic relationships in renegotiating these injuries in order to find healing. I focused on building a foundation of anti-oppressive practice and I have specialized training in Somatic Experiencing, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Dialectical Behavioir Therapy skill training, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion Focused Therapy for individuals (EFT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
