New Mexico Seminar with David Mars
AEDP Southwest presents:
AEDP for Couples: Helping Couples Move Beyond Hot and Cold Conflict to Develop Lasting Love and Trust
with David Mars
About this seminar:
AEDP for Couples is an accelerated method of helping couples find the guiding light of love freshly. It catalyzes the building of relationship that reflects the values and self-at-best of both members of the couple.
Based on the work of Diana Fosha, it brings affective neuroscience, attachment research and transformational studies together in ways that potentiate new capacities to heal both current and historical deprivation and trauma. It provides a natural combination with EFT and other methods of couples treatment.
It expands the ability of therapists to bridge to the heart and mind of each couple member through somatic tracking methods. It establishes a felt sense of love from the first session, and evokes experiences that melt through fixed and invariant habits to bring out the love that is hidden beneath.
In the morning we will watch a vivid video-taped first session of a couple that is on the brink of a break-up. In the afternoon we will view the breakthrough second session as the couple begins to heal the wounds of historical abandonment and broken trust that brought their relationship to the brink of ending in the first place.
