Lisa K Sydow,PhD,LPC

I am a Certified AEDP Therapist and Supervisor-in-Training with over 35 + years of clinical experience. I discovered AEDP in 2016 through a AEDP introductory training with Diana Fosha, which quickly ignited a focused and enduring commitment to this modality. While my clinical work has long been rooted in present-moment, experiential processes, I found AEDP to open even greater possibilities for engaging clients in deeply transformative ways. I am especially drawn to one of AEDP’s gems: as clients deepen and expand, we as clinicians are also transformed alongside them.

As a clinician, I support clients in accessing greater emotional capacity, clarity, and vitality within a relational field where healing can unfold organically. I specialize in family and couples therapy, as well as trauma-informed individual therapy, and I am certified in Brainspotting with advanced training in EMDR.

As a supervisor-in-training, I am actively refining my supervisory skills, supporting clinicians in discovering their own “AEDP-ness.” I bring many years of supervisory experience, including as a supervisor of EFCT, EFFT, and EFIT, as well as adjunct faculty teaching family therapy and clinical skills in graduate psychology programs. I particularly delight in attuning closely to each supervisee’s learning process, bringing both curiosity and specificity to help clinicians discover new possibilities for deepening and expanding their effectiveness.
