I work best with clients who are looking for a safe and caring therapy relationship in order to pursue goals that have previously seemed too difficult to achieve alone. These goals typically range from wanting to experience life more fully, including a fuller range of emotions, to having more rewarding relationships and more fulfilling work lives. I have been practicing psychotherapy for over 25 years, have been teaching it for almost as long, and feel comfortable assisting with a very wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, parenting challenges and other relationship and family conflicts.
I work with individuals, couples, and families from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. I combine a range of approaches in my work, always based on the particular needs of the client(s). In fact, I have written articles about psychotherapy integration.
The research on psychotherapy outcomes tells us that the most important ingredient in successful psychotherapy is the creation of a strong and emotionally secure therapy relationship. Given my many years of experience in the field, I can help provide the kind of relationship you need to pursue your desired goals.
