Gitit Jacobson-Ziv, Clinical Psychologist
Gitit Jacobson-Ziv, M.A., is a licensed clinical psychologist and supervisor, as well as an AEDP Certified Supervisor and psychotherapist based in Israel. She works in a private clinic with adults and adolescents, specializing in attachment trauma and at-risk youth. Gitit worked as a therapist and supervisor in a psychiatric hospital and served as clinical director at a boarding school for at-risk children and adolescents. Working for years with clients who suffered from trauma and attachment trauma, and facing the challenges of helping them, prompted her to learn continually, and AEDP was a perfect fit for her work.
From the moment she encountered AEDP, it profoundly permeated her clinical work. As she expanded her learning and deepened her understanding of the model, she felt a renewed passion that has shown up in both her therapy sessions and the individual and group supervision she provides. There was no going back; AEDP had become integral to how she understands and practices healing. It became a rich source. Working with the felt sense plays a central role in her work, deepening the shared experience and adapting the wonderful ideas of AEDP to a variety of clients. Gitit uses these ideas to tune into what is unspoken and to offer an invitation into a journey into the depths of the soul.
Before being introduced to AEDP, her journey as a therapist and supervisor began with object relations theory. She also received training in mindfulness, biofeedback, EFT, and EFCT, sex therapy, and is a licensed CBT therapist.
