AEDP® Education Committee
The AEDP Education Committee ensures that every training offered by the AEDP Institute meets high educational and continuing education licensing board standards. The Committee fosters a culture of continuous learning, diversity, and inclusivity, supporting mental health professionals in developing the skills and knowledge needed to meet the evolving needs of their clients. All trainings are reviewed to ensure they follow professional standards.
The Committee also reviews applications from AEDP Supervisors, Adjunct Faculty, and Faculty seeking advancement within the Institute. Each application is evaluated to ensure the applicant meets the Institute’s criteria for professional experience, teaching readiness, and ethical standards. Reporting to the Institute Steering Committee, the Education Committee promotes excellence and ongoing quality improvement, supporting the Institute’s mission of professional growth and the advancement of AEDP psychotherapy.
The Education Committee meets bi-monthly.

Eileen M. Russell, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and a founding faculty member of the AEDP Institute. She began studying and training in AEDP in 1996 with Drs. Diana Fosha and Jenna Osiason. Dr. Russell has been an adjunct faculty member at NYU Medical/ Bellevue Hospital Center where she completed her internship training and later worked as a senior psychologist with individuals struggling with addiction and psychiatric diagnoses. She is currently also on the faculty of the National Institute of the Psychotherapies (NIP) Integrative Trauma Program. Her passion is AEDP, which she has taught to individuals and groups since 2004 nationally and internationally. She combines a warm and gentle clinical style with a probing and articulate interest in theory to bring out the depths of the AEDP approach. Eden Abraham (she/her), MSW is a Level 3 AEDP therapist. She earned her MSW from York University in Toronto, Ontario and is a Professional Counsellor working primarily with Black identified students at Toronto Metropolitan University.
Eden has witnessed the tremendous liberating impact on the self that AEDP can engender and feels grateful to have found her clinical home in a model that is not merely concerned with appearing to get it right but is committed to the brave/bold/messy/ever-changing work of truly getting it right. She feels profoundly grateful for the endless guidance and generosity of wisdom & expert knowledge that she has received from this community of teachers & healers. She humbly hopes to share the transformance driving gift of AEDP with other emerging Black therapists.
Michael Mondoro is a Certified AEDP Therapist, a Certified AEDP Supervisor, an Intra-Relational AEDP parts work enthusiast, a trauma and trauma-related dissociation specialist, a member of the AEDP Institute Education Committee, a participating certification supervisor in the AEDP Institute BIPOC Therapist Initiative, and an active member of the AEDP community since 2012.
Michael is dedicated to helping individuals who have experienced relational trauma, PTSD and complex PTSD to securely connect, heal, and flourish in life. As someone who has experienced the profound benefits of post-traumatic growth and is a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, complex, relational trauma work is near and dear to his heart
