I am a Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years experience in the mental health field. I served on the faculty of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine for 12 years, and was the Director of Training of the medical school's Clinical Psychology Internship program, where I taught and supervised psychotherapy. Over the years, I have practiced a variety of therapy approaches, and have distilled down the methods that have been most effective. I strive to provide empathy and clear understanding, and bring focus to help clients understand and work through problematic patterns of thinking and feeling.
I help my clients to develop increased self-acceptance, reclaim their natural empowerment and confidence, and find the clarity and resource to change stuck, maladaptive patterns. Problems that I have helped clients overcome include anxiety disorders, depression, excessive guilt and shame, relationship conflicts, poor self-esteem, and emotional storminess.
In addition to professional training and experience, I have been involved in meditation training for over 25 years, through which I have developed a direct understanding of cognitive and emotional mindfulness techniques. This experiential knowledge has helped me to better assist clients in developing their capacities for awareness and change.
