Sheila Rubin, MA, LMFT, RDT/BCT is a Marriage and Family Therapist, Registered Drama Therapist and Board Certified Trainer who works with adults, couples, children (including very young children) and teens. Sheila is the Co-Director of the Center for Healing Shame in Berkeley, CA, a continuing education provider that offers Healing Shame workshops and a full certification and training program to therapists and helping professionals. She co-created the Healing Shame – Lyon/Rubin method and has delivered talks, presentations and workshops across the country and around the world, at conferences from Canada to Romania. Sheila is a graduate of the CIIS Counseling and Drama Therapy program and is a past adjunct faculty in JFK University’s Somatic Psychology program. Sheila has trained in AEDP with Diana Fosha, EFT with Sue Johnson, Hakomi and Drama Therapy. She has developed therapy techniques integrating somatic and expressive modalities to work with the all-pervasive shame and trauma that underlie toxic family dynamics, eating disorders, and addictions. Her expertise, teaching, and writing contributions have been featured in numerous publications, including six books. Sheila has been a therapist for over 25 years and offers therapy through her private practice in Berkeley and online through Zoom. She also offers consultation to therapists in person and over Skype.
