Jodi Staszak is a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of California. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and her master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from the University of San Diego’s School of Leadership and Education Sciences. Her clinical training began at the V.A. San Diego Healthcare System where she provided individual, couple and group therapy to veterans and their families. Following graduation, Jodi returned to the V.A. and collaborated with the director of the Family Mental Health Program to establish a Saturday clinic where she provided couples counseling to veterans and their partners for several years before opening a private practice of her own. In addition to her work with veterans, Jodi worked with active duty service members at Aurora Behavioral Healthcare for over two years within their intensive inpatient program and then went on to practice at Kaiser Permanente for 5 plus years where she saw individuals in addition to facilitating groups on EFT, DBT and Codependency. Jodi opened a part time private practice in Central San Diego (Hillcrest) in 2012 and left Kaiser in August of 2019 to dedicate herself to her practice full time where she is currently accepting new clients. Whether she is working with individuals or couples, she strives to help each client reach a higher level of satisfaction in their interpersonal relationships. Because her passion is helping people acquire healthier and happier relationships and lives, she is actively pursuing advanced certification in the model of emotionally focused therapy (EFT) and has assisted with, and presented at Hold Me Tight workshops on the topics of Forgiveness and Revisiting Rocky Moments. She is also actively pursuing certification in the model of Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). She believes strongly in continued education, and strives to further her clinical skills by frequently attending seminars and trainings so that she can provide the best possible therapeutic service to you.
