Hans Welling, MSc

Hans Welling, MSc, is a Lisbon based Certified AEDP and EFT therapist, who has trained extensively with pioneers like Diana Fosha and Leslie Greenberg and has dedicated his career to psychotherapy integration and advancing experiential approaches to healing emotional pain. He is a recognized AEDP Ambassador for Portugal, regularly organizing and leading trainings on AEDP and integrative experiential techniques in Portugal, Israel, and international online settings.

He is the author of numerous publications in journals such as the Psychotherapy, Journal of Psychotherapy Integration, Person-Centered and Experiential Psychotherapies, Transformance, among others. His work includes influencial contributions to experiential therapy, such as the “Transformative Emotional Sequence” (2012), highlighting the role of memory reconsolidation in AEDP, EFT, EMDR and Coherence Therapy.

Alongside Netta Ofer, he developed the “Three Triangles of Emotional Pain” model, a novel framework for differentiating and treating distinct forms of emotional suffering. This model for conceptualization in experiential psychotherapies was shared in frequent workshops and webinars and in key publications such as Pain Dynamics (2022) and Triangles of Pain (2025) and has made a powerful impact in the field.
