AEDP Institute

SUPERVISION OFFERINGS

See the complete list of Certified AEDP Supervisors; all Institute Faculty also supervise.

Individual Supervision

This can be done either in person or using a HIPAA compliant / privacy protected online video meeting platform. In the latter, the supervisee screen shares the recorded clinical material with their supervisor.

Group Supervision

Each group member receives individual supervision from videotapes of their clinical sessions, with the other members of the group watching and participating in a group supervision process led by a member of the AEDP Faculty or a Certified AEDP Supervisor. This way, supervisees can learn both from their own supervision and the supervision of others via exposure to many other patient-clinician and clinician-supervisor dyads. These groups tend to develop a culture of trust and generosity which allows the risk-taking of exposing one’s work and which is uniquely suited for optimal experiential and reflective learning.

If you are interested in being part of a small group supervision, contact a faculty member or certified supervisor in your area to see if they have any small supervision groups which have openings. Alternately, you and 2-3 colleagues can initiate forming a small group and then finding a faculty member or certified supervisor to work with you. These small supervision groups can be done in person, and also long distance, by using a HIPAA compliant / privacy protected online video meeting platform.

Increased accessibility for Black community members to AEDP supervision to facilitate the path to certification and leadership.

Diana Fosha, AEDP Faculty, and many AEDP Certified Supervisors commit to a minimum of 60-90 minutes weekly of low cost and/or free individual or group supervision for Black members of the AEDP community. Fall, 2020 Please go here to view the list.

Supervision Opportunities Offered by Faculty, Certified Supervisors and Supervisors in Training*

*Supervisors in Training (SITs) are not yet Certified Supervisors. When SITs are supervising without a Faculty member or other Certified Supervisor present, the hours do not count towards AEDP Certification until and unless the SIT becomes certified, at which time the supervision hours are retroactively counted. If a Faculty member or other Certified Supervisor is present during an SIT’s supervision, the hours do count towards AEDP Certification.
